About

Fountain of Life Church

The Fountain of Life Church held its’ first service on February 7, 1983 in a rented parish house in Far Rockaway, NY. This property belonged to the Bethel Temple Church of God in Christ, pastored by the late Dr. Charles H. Jones, who was instrumental in the birth of our church.

As we experienced God’s blessings our membership increased to forty faithful believers by April of the same year. We prevailed in prayer for our own facility and God blessed us to relocate to 105 N. Franklin St., Hempstead, NY in March, 1984. The men of “The Fountain” worked diligently to renovate what had previously been a Chinese restaurant into a house of worship.

As our ministry continued to grow, it became apparent very soon that we would again have to find a new facility. We negotiated a contract to rent space in a local hotel. Just before we signed the contract, Bishop J. Raymond Mackey of Tabernacle of Joy Church in Uniondale, NY invited us to share their facility. Being grateful to God for again making a way for us, we moved our church administration office into the basement of then Pastor and Sis. Lyons home.

We then began holding our worship services at Tabernacle of Joy Church.

For two and half years, our Pastor believed God for our own property.

While we waited for our new home to manifest, our church participated in major evangelistic crusades and conducted a crusade in North Carolina. God was truly faithful to us, and on July 1, 1991, we were blessed to move to our final and current church home located at 1066 Front Street, Uniondale, NY, which is set on two acres of land and is over twelve thousand square feet.

During the summer of 1991, we renovated what was once a bookbinding factory and again we converted into a house of worship. We began holding our worship services in our new home in October, 1991. With God’s help, we were blessed to take ownership of this property in 1997.

We began a Bible College affiliated with the Christian Life School of Theology in 1997, which taught higher education in various ministerial studies. In November, 2007 we completed the courses of study and held the graduation of students conferring diplomas and degrees up to the Doctorate level in ministry. From 2000 to 2002, we served as the host location for a Christian School for grades two through six.

Fountain of Life Church Summer Academy served working parents with a
summer camp program for youth ages 3 – 5 yrs. old also for several years.
We are preparing to re-open our summer camp program for the summer
of 2020 for community families.

Pastor Lyons was elevated to the sacred office of Bishop on December 7, 2002 as directed by God. This was a milestone in his life and the history of our church.

As well as “The Fountain”, Bishop Lyons was instrumental in the birth of several other churches from New York to North Carolina and served as their covering and Overseer. Under the inspiration and direction of the Holy Spirit, and Bishop Lyons mentor, he was elevated to the office of Apostle on July 24, 2006.

As a husband and father, Bishop Lyons has enjoyed his outside the pulpit with his wife of 39 years, Elder Sharon Lyons and his two daughters, Juliet Patrice- Clarke and Jasmine Latrice and have been blessed to have them share in the work of the ministry alongside their parents. They recently added to their

family with the marriage of their daughter, Juliet to Joaquin Clarke.

After over thirty years of trusting God and watching Him fulfill His many promises, Fountain of Life Church continues to be a place where “God’s gospel is preached to the world and His word is fed to the flock”.
